One more thing to remember- Ableton can be run in 32 or 64bit versions. On a 64bit computer, you can install Ableton in either 32 or 64bit mode. The downside to a 32bit computer is it can't make use of more than 4GB of RAM, though for most basic applications 4GB should be enough. What follows below is a very detailed guide for the case of creating a Master Unlock file in order to distribute this file from the centralized. How well does your 13 inch 2017 MacBook pro run ableton? I'm returning my 15 inch model as the GPU automatically turns on when using Live/FLStudio and gets quite hot. This is a huge annoyance, plus I've kinda put quite a bit on my credit card so the 13 inch would make more sense financially haha.
Features and Highlights
Create
No matter how you start your music, Live offers a workflow that will help you get going. Record audio or MIDI from any source. Mix and match loops and samples from any tempo. Work with a huge range of included sounds, instruments, and effects.
Finish
Live helps you get from a collection of musical ideas to a finished song. With extensive editing workflows, great sounding EQs and compressors, great looking meters and waveforms, and fast, flexible exporting options, Live gives you everything you need to get music done.
Perform
Take your music out of the studio and onto the stage, with Live’s powerful performance workflows. Since Live handles keeping everything in time, you can play hardware or software instruments, trigger loops, process audio from other musicians, and focus on making music.
Extend
Get more sounds, add controllers, or customize almost everything about how Live works. Access dozens of add-on Packs from Ableton or thousands of community-built Max for Live instruments, effects, and more. Use any MIDI hardware to get hands on with Live.
Note: 30-day trial version. Limitation (saving and exporting are disabled).

I'm currently running Live 9 + Push 2 + Arturia Audiofuse + Moog Subsequent 37 on an early 2015 Macbook Pro / 2,9ghz i5 / 16gb RAM DDR3 and it is giving me a lot of grief.
As soon as I have 4-5 tracks running I get huge CPU spikes to 100% - 200% with audio crackles which then freezes my computer.
Every time I get those spikes I need to press pause, wait for the CPU to catchup and this has become quite unmanageable.
I'm also familiar with the Freeze Track process but this is not a comfortable solution when I even struggle to run 4 or 5 basic tracks with no third party plugin.
As a result I'm looking to buy a new laptop/desktop machine to run Live to ensure I can focus on making music and not battling with tech.
On top of the above setup, I run the following third party plugins: Arturia Collection V, Kontakt, Waves & Izotope Neutron.
