Where To Find Projects From Ableton On Mac Windows 10

I finished a song in Ableton live 8.2.2. I saved and hit 'Close Live Set'. (I did not quit Ableton.) Next, I wanted to back up the song onto another external drive. By accident, I dragged the file into the same folder I just recorded on. A pop up window appeared saying something like 'Project in use'. I quit. Afterwards my project.als file was delete out of the original folder. I still have the Ableton Project Info and the Samples folder. I cannot find the .als file on my computer. It is not in the trash and does not show up on a hard drive search. Please help!!!!
